Online reviews for Baan Hin Sai Samui Boutique Hotel, Koh Samui
“Beautiful Place” Jan 28, 2010 | Trip type: An Agoda Traveler
“Me and my friend had a great time at the Buddy Samui hotel. The staff were lovely and the place was nice and clean. The rooms were great... even better than the pictures on the website. Staff were exceptionally friendly and willing to help out... It is a bit out from the main town area, but this was great for us because that meant it was quite and peaceful and only a short inexpensive cab ride or walk to get into town. The pool was great, didn't eat at the restaurants there cos they seemed a bit expensive, but quite a few really nice little restaurants just down the road or short cab ride into town.”
“Great place, but not on the beach” Jan 12, 2010 | Trip type: An Agoda Traveler
“We loved Baan Hin Sai! It's on a pretty steep incline so there's a little golf cart service that'll drive you up to reception or down to your room, pool, spa, wherever you're going. The view is great, with a nice big rockface at the bottom where the waves crash. The conditions of the room were excellent, lots of beautiful wood. Incredibly romantic place to be.
There's an hourly shuttle that'll bus you to Chaweng beach or Lamai. That would be the only downside we had was that it wasn't on the beach itself, and not very walkable cause you'd be walking for half an hour on the side of a winding mountain road with cars wizzing by you the whole time. But if you just want a quick dip to cool yourself off, the "endless" pool is a good place to do it. Just jump in and look out onto the sea.
Breakfast was fine, better than most breakfasts in hotels back in north america to be honest.
The staff was great and always with a smile. I would definetly go back to Baan Hin Sai.

“Very Quiet and can hear Wave Sound..."Jun 7, 2009 | Trip type: An Agoda Traveler
“I like this places because of Very Quiet. Althought the hotel does not have the beach You can hear Wave Sound all day.(The closed beach is chaweng beach)I usually stay in the hotel and read the book.Food is also good.If you want to go to chaweng beach you need to borrow a car or a motocyle. I also suggest you go to have the SPA at the hotel. There SPA is very very...good, hope you can enjoy it. Thanks”
“Heavenly location; Gorgeous Hotel!!” Apr 22, 2009 | Trip type: Couper
“The Baan Hin Sai Hotel is surely among the best hotels in Koh Samui. It is located very close to View Point; at the top of the hill overlooking the sea, with an AWESOME view of Chaweng Beach. The hotel is located sort of mid-way between Chaweng Beach and La Mai Beach; which are the 2 most popular and best beaches on the island.
The hotel is designed in such a way that the reception is at the highest point; with the rooms being spread along the side of the hill downwards heading towards the sea (with all rooms getting some view of the sea). There are lots of trees and plants all around and you truly enjoy being in a tropical paradise!
There are 2 restaurants; with one at the lobby and the second (much more gorgeous one) right facing to the sea.
There are also 2 swimming pools: one being close to the lobby and the other being right at the bottom- close to the sea. The view from the second pool (with 3 levels) is just out of this world- you can see parts of Chaweng Beach and even watch as aircrafts approach the airport. Having a drink while lying on the beach chairs and watching the sunset was a heavenly feeling for us!
The hotel has its own beautiful little beach sit out, right near the sea. However, it wouldnt be advisable to approach the sea directly from there as it's quite rough and rocky. There's also a spa close to the sea (which we didnt use).
The rooms (cottages) are totally comfortable, spacious, very nicely secluded and have a very nice balcony.
To take you to your rooms along the narrow path- are 'Golf Carts' (pronounced by the staff as "Cop Car" ;) ) which makes it a lot of fun to move up and down the hotel.
The staff is quite helpful on the whole, but the hotel is quite understaffed. Beware that vegetarians will have have a bit of difficulty ordering full meals in the hotel (please learn the term "Kin Che" meaning "Can eat vegetables" if you're a vegetarian). However, the amazing restaurant Dr.Frog's which is located just a stone's throw away, serves great vegetarian pizzas, pastas and other continental cuisine.
The hotel will leave you completely refreshed and recharged with its peaceful and super relaxed atmosphere.
I have some very special memories attached to this hotel; being the first holiday I took with my life partner! :)”
